Mercedes-Benz Review Roundup: The 2010 Mercedes E-Class Range
Yes, ladies and gentlemen, I already know what you’re thinking – the fact that as of late, there’s been a notable absence of Mercedes reviews here at eMercedesBenz. Indeed, we have fallen a bit behind in our Mercedes review coverage, but not to worry my dear readers, because even as you read this, we’re diligently catching up on the various Mercedes reviews that we’ve missed. In fact, we have not one… not two… not even five… but a grand total of eleven articles we’re bringing you, all of which analyze the brand-new 2010 Mercedes E-Class. To make viewing easier, I’m going to split up the articles into three Mercedes Review Roundups, starting with this one that analyzes the 2010 Mercedes E-Class range as a whole. Subsequently, i’ll then publish the individual E-Class model reviews for your viewing entertainment. So without further ado, the first of three 2010 Mercedes E-Class Review Roundups. 2010 Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG Spied With Minimal Camoflauge
2010 Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG Spied With Minimal Camoflauge
New spy photos have emerged today depicting a scantily clad Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG, which should be celebrating its unveiling in the not too distant future. Not surprisingly, it doesn’t look much different than the 2010 Mercedes E-Class fitted with the AMG sport package that we detailed back in January, but of course, the true fun of the E63 lies not in its design, but rather in what’s under the hood. Power from the model’s hand-built AMG 6.2-Liter V8 is expected to come in around 525 hp, while the rest of the E63′s mechanics are expected to receive a major overhaul. Mercedes-Benz Launches New Navigation System For Their Atego, Axor And Actros Commercial Vehicles
Mercedes-Benz Launches New Navigation System For Their Atego, Axor And Actros Commercial Vehicles
Mercedes has unveiled today a new navigation system for their Atego, Axor and Actros model series commercial vehicles. In total, map material is provided for 26 European countries, with a total of 15 European languages available for the voice instructions. But what makes the new navigation so unique isn’t its ability to provide directions, as any navigation can perform this task, but rather its ability to take into account the specific requirements of commercial vehicles (weight restrictions, limited height and width clearances, etc.) and subsequently provide the best route taking into account these factors. To make the system work, the vehicle’s operator simply enters into the navigation system a number of key details about the vehicle and load, and the navigation system handles the rest. Auto Resource: Compare Car Insurance
Auto Resource: Compare Car Insurance
If you live in the UK and you’re looking for car insurance for your Audi, you may want to check out moneysupermarket.com’s car insurance section where you can compare car insurance from over 60 leading insurance companies. Instead of visiting numerous car insurance websites and filling out form after form of information, you can just visit the moneysupermarket.com website and fill in your information just once. Even if you’re thinking about purchasing a certain type of vehicle, you can still compare car insurance quotes for different makes and models of cars. (I didn’t see a link for Audi, but hopefully they’ll have one soon!) I like that the website has car insurance customer reviews because one thing I look for when shopping for car insurance is how well a company treats their customers. There’s nothing more annoying than dealing with an insurance company that makes you jump through hoops in order to make a claim. As I was browsing through the list of customer reviews, I noticed that 1) there are alot of car insurance companies out there and 2) only a handful of companies received a 4 or 5-star rating. Even if you’re looking for car insurance advice, you can join moneysupermarket.com’s very active car insurance forum and post a question or share information with others. Or if you prefer an expert’s advice, Andy Leadbetter, a car insurance expert, is also active in the forum. If I could give one piece of advice, I would say: Don’t shop for insurance based soley on price. Make sure you go with a company that will really take care of you! Honda to Develop New Cellulosic Ethanol R&D Facility to Speed up Commercialization
Honda to Develop New Cellulosic Ethanol R&D Facility to Speed up Commercialization
Honda Motor Co., Ltd. will develop a new research and development facility to bring about the creation and the practical use of bioethnol technology made from cellulosic materials by using the leaves and stems of plants. The car company is making continuous studies on the technologies of bioethanol production in collaboration with Research Institute of Innovative Technology for the Earth or RITE. The research processes began in 2006, with experiments done in a facility of Honda, the Fundamental Technology Research Center since April 2007. The cellulosic ethanol process of the RITE-Honda partnership makes use of genetically modified Corynebacterium glutamicum to be able to produce ethanol out of combined sugars. Last November 2008, RITE-Honda had won the Grand Prize of the 18th Nikkei Global Environment Technology Award for their outstanding contribution to biofuel research industry. Honda decided to create a new research and development institute for them to speed up the production and practical use of their latest technology. It is indeed needed to carry out the research and experiments on a large scale facility to allow them to obtain precise evaluations. The planned facility, Honda R&D Co., Ltd. Fundamental Technology Research Center, will be constructed within Kazusa Akademia Park located in Kisarazu, Chiba. The car company is intending to construct a single building measuring 1,050 m2 for a research facility on a 5,000 m2 lot. On April 2009, the construction will start to be able to start the facility’s operations in November 2009. Much more on Bio-Ethanol on Green Cars are GReat ! Motor Press Guild – Passion
"WHERE'S THE PASSION?" When you work in the auto industry, you spend quite a bit of time writing about cars, talking about cars, comparing cars, thinking about cars, and driving cars. The best part is, even in the midst of a sour economy and poor sales facing the auto industry, we ( NADAguides.com ) still love everything about cars! Today’s blog post is going to be short, but I hope that it really hits home. Our NADAguides.com team attended the monthly MPG luncheon at the Proud Bird in Los Angeles. I have been going to these luncheons on and off for years. For those that aren’t familiar with the Motor Press Guild – it’s one of the largest monthly gatherings of automotive professionals…from PR and advertising reps, to auto insiders, media and more. The last luncheon was, perhaps, the best one I have ever been to. Well, that’s not entirely true, as many of them have been memorable, but this one stuck out to me. First, I think they had near record attendance. The speakers for this program were designers Henrik Fisker (Fisker Coachbuild), Freeman Thomas (Ford) and Dave Marek (Honda/Acura). I really don’t want to get in to the actual presentation itself, but rather a remark made by one of the speakers. I was particularly moved by Henrik Fisker and his response to a question about “why he is coming out with a high end product like the Fisker Karma.” He could have come up with a host of answers, but his answer actually stuck with me. Fisker said, “The auto industry is about passion.” He went on to talk about how the industry needs to be energized and made excitable again to consumers. He didn’t talk about the car, didn’t push his company…just expressed the passion. It was moving. I couldn’t agree more with Henrik. The auto industry needs to be injected with more spice, more creativity and more cars that are simply fun to drive, but also meet the new mpg and environmental standards. This doesn’t mean they need to all be hybrids, but a good balance combining performance, sex appeal and earth-friendly attributes will draw consumers out. Our next NADAguides.com vehicle review is on the 2009 Acura TSX. This car exudes the exact passion I am talking about. Hats off...

Honda Tops Consumer Reports for 2009
Honda Tops Consumer Reports for 2009
In what’s starting to seem routine, Consumer Reports has released it’s 2009 Auito Issue and once again Honda is at the top of the Auto Maker Report Card. The report card compiles data from autos from all car manuafacturers and the scores are based on road test data and reliability ratings. Honda, Toyota and Subaru were the top three auto manufacturers overall. Honda fared best overall based on predicted reliability, with only the Element falling slightly short. While the European manufacturers didn’t fare as well overall, they did earn high marks in performance comfort and safety. For some reason, American auto manufacturers are scored separately (which seems odd and almost unfair). Among them, Ford came out ahead with it’s Flex and F-150 vehicles, and GM managed to get 8 of its vehicles on the Consumer Reports Recommended list. NADAguides Car of the Month – March 2009: Audi Q7
NADAguides Car of the Month – March 2009: Audi Q7
When I think of Audi, I think of the blazing fast R8 or the family friendly A4 or A6. Regardless, I think of a sporty German automobile. After recently visiting Germany, I was surprised how many Audi, BMW and Mercedes served as taxis or delivery vehicles. In the States, we view the Lincoln Town Car as our domestic chariot to and from the airport; however, our German friends like to put a little more sport into their “service” vehicles. To be honest…rolling through Germany in an A6 was pretty nice. So, to kick-off our 2009 Car of the Month program , we wanted to find a vehicle that was slightly off the radar, yet combined sport, utility and luxury making it an all around daily driver. Look no further than the 2009 Audi Q7!   The DRIVE It was supposed to be a typical Southern California weekend with sunshine and blue skies as far as the eyes can see. I took receipt of the Q7 Premium Quattro at our offices and no sooner than an hour later did the skies open up and the rain start to fall. At first, my disappointment was apparent, doing a vehicle review is supposed to be stress free with sunshine basking through the sun roof. Well, this was not going to be the drive I was hoping for, but I accepted the challenge with a new found excitement. In fact, it actually made the experience even better. The rainfall total for the three days of driving was roughly 3-4 inches, which in Southern California is rare. Taking to the road in pouring rain gave me the immediate opportunity to test out the wipers, braking and overall drivability. Handling it all with precision, the automatic wipers clicked on with-out touching a button, which allowed me to focus on the rain slicked and puddle laden roads. Driving through Laguna Canyon (California State Route 133) I quickly developed an appreciation for the handling on the slight twisting of the single lane road. What caught my attention with the drivability was the feeling of not being in a large SUV, but rather a nimble sedan. The ride height was perfect and the control was precise. Under the Hood…Performance Powering the 2009 Audi Q7 is a 3.6 liter, 280 hp, V6 DOHC. I love talking about horsepower, but in the case of the Q7, it’s not a must. The engine operates effortlessly as it shifts through its...
Audi’s February 2009 Sales
Audi’s February 2009 Sales
The current economy has affected many businesses and Audi is no exception. Yesterday the company announced that sales for the month of February totaled 4,653 units sold which is a decrease from February sales in 2008. However, on a more positive note, the Audi A5 continued to post increases over last year. The A5 recorded 494 units sold in February 2009, an increase of 28.6% over the previous February. By the way, if you happened to miss my post about the A5, click here to check out the reviews . See the original post:  Audi’s February 2009 Sales
